Yeah. Haven't played it in years. A buddy is gong through a mid life crisis I guess, so he bought a Squire combo pack to see if he could learn. He knew I used to play (poorly), so he said get your shit out. I forgot about it for a few days and thought fuck it. Got it all out about 9:00 Sunday night and started rocking! Scratchy knobs, selector switch cutting out, volume knob on the guitar fucking up. It was great! Then after about 10 minutes-no volume. Walked upstairs (I was in the basement) wifey was in the kitchen right above me and said "I broke it". She said "Good! I was about to come down there and killy you!"
Rude.
Anyway, took back cover off and a broken wire. Getting fixed as we speak.
It's an old Charvel Predator. 1988 I believe.

Mine is an Epiphone SG. No photos yet. I have had dramas with the pickup selection switch for years too!

I can 'play' guitar still. I only remember the E chord but thats enough to get by. Ventura lawsuit model: I really play bass though: I even made a stereo cord so I can use the ric-o-sound and run clean to my main amp and a pedal to a single 10.

That Rickenbacker bass is mean! I would’ve taken you more as a Fender Jazz bass type of guy plan9customs!

I almost got one wakeinfright, so partially right. I also have an Ibanez edb400 and a beater Squire P bass.

He’s a knobice bassist. Geddy did play a ric at one point. Hell, Burton had a ric with p bass pickups. I’m a slut, I like them all.

plan9customs, Burton notably removed the Rickenbacker’s original hi-gain pickups to suit his heavy use of effects pedals and thunderous fingered bass style, fitting a Gibson EB ‘mudbucker' humbucker in the neck position and a Seymour Duncan Stacked Jazz Bass pickup in the bridge to achieve his unique tone. A handwritten note from Burton also reveals he initially had a third stacked Seymour Duncan Stratocaster pickup installed in place of the Rickenbacker’s foam mute and activated by a push-pull knob, eliminating unnecessary noise and acting as a secret weapon for Burton on the biting Kill ‘Em All bass showcase ‘(Anaesthesia) Pulling Teeth’.

Nope. But I am thinking about that pickup selector switch you recommended @jb77! Blackie has been a big inspiration of mine for the last 30 years! images.app.goo.gl/sjJ22kbPm7hmZ3ETAAnd don’t forget this other great band from Down Under America!
